The University of Alberta ,Canada Scholarships for World wide Students [updated]

The University of Alberta   is open to local and international students to take the advantage of the good learning environment and obtain a well recognized degree.

The University of Alberta was founded in the year 1908. It is a top ranked institution in Canada and in the world university ranking system.

This is a public research university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It offers a range of academic and professional programs, which generally lead to undergraduate and graduate level credentials.

Scholarship Categories:

A.   Application-based scholarships

B.   Admission-based scholarships

The undergraduate Scholarships-Application based scholarships are listed below:

1. UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE CITATION:

Students with a superior admission average and demonstrated leadership qualities entering their first year of an undergraduate degree on a Student Visa Permit could receive up to $40,000 (payable over 4 years).

2. UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA CENTENARY SCHOLARSHIP:

Students with a superior admission average and demonstrated leadership qualities entering their first year of an undergraduate degree on a Student Visa Permit could receive up to $30,000 (payable over 4 years).

3. INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP:

Well-rounded students with admission averages of 80%+ entering their first year of an undergraduate degree on a Student Visa Permit will be assessed for scholarships to recognize their accomplishments through leadership roles and could receive up to $7,500

The admission-based scholarships are listed below:

1. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP:

Students with superior academics who will be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree studying on a Student Visa Permit could receive up to $9,000, depending on admission average.

 

2.UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY SCHOLARSHIP:

Students with superior academics who will be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree studying on a Student Visa Permit could receive up to $5,000. Selection is based on the region of a student’s high school.

The Eligibility Requirements:

A. Applicants must be international students.

B. Students admitted into undergraduate degree program.

C. The award is available for undergraduate students in various courses offered at the University.

D. Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and levels of motivation will also be taken into consideration based on academic merit.

E. Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.

F. Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

G. A high school transcript and/or GSE results (if your transcript is not in English, also require a certified translation)

H. Applicants must have a High school certificate or equivalent.

I.  Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible, and able to work independently in a structured manner and as good interpersonal and communication skill.

J.  Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time program at University of Alberta, Canada

K.  Application process based on merit and evidence of leadership.

The Graduate Scholarships- Ashley and Janet Cameron Graduate Scholarship in Northern Studies and Research:

This scholarship is endowed by the estate of Ashley and Janet Cameron. The scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding student in a graduate degree program at the University of Alberta

Application Process:

Your application should include the following:

Completed application form, which asks for a description of the research to be undertaken (maximum of 2 pages)

  • A transcript over the last two years emailed to northres@ualberta.ca
  • Reference letters (minimum of 3) must be received no later than October 1st

Application to renew should include the following:

  • Completed application form, which asks for a description of the research to be undertaken (maximum of 2 pages)
  • A transcript

The supervisor’s report must be received no later than October 1st, can be sent to northres@ualberta.ca.
