Fulbright Scholarship Program is one of the United States Cultural Exchange Programs, and the aim is to improve cultural diplomacy,intercultural relations, and intercultural competence between the people of the United States and other countries.
This is done through the exchange of knowledge, persons, and skills. It is among the most prestigious and competitive fellowship programs in the world and through the program, competitively-selected american and non-american citizens including students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists may receive scholarships to study, conduct research, teach, or exercise their talents abroad; and citizens of other countries may qualify to do the same by immigrating to the United States of America through the assistance the Fulbright scholarship program.
The United States of America has provided the Fulbright scholarship to thousands of international students in over 155 countries to seek their studies in United States universities and academic institutions since the year 1946.
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State receives funding from the United States Congress via annual appropriation bills, which is use to run this program.
